Your emotions rocked like a toy boat in a child's bath,

wave after wave comes and knocks you down from behind

without any notice. You sit, sulk, for hours and cannot stop.

Someone comes, put their arms around you and speaks

encouragement but you hear not one word. The sting of 

violence and horrid names echo through the night and day

for weeks and months. You wonder, is this ever going to end?

The holidays drift by, and you honestly didn't notice the red, white, and blue,

 not even old saint nick and the beauty of 

Christmas. You start to feel like a stale-dated check and universal plastic-

That's right, the credit card that's been canceled. How could you be 

garnered as nothing when you gave more than something filled with your innocence and

kindness, love, and trust? One day, you do a self -check with all the pluses and minuses which gives

you leverage. Leverage gives you something to work with, and from there, traction starts to happen.

From this point, you reach momentum and inch by inch, you reign with hope and 

overcome any challenges that have come against you. Strengthened by might and vigor,

your wick is just starting out. You know the candle that you just lit is your own, and there is a 

beautiful fragrance upon you. It permeates your being from head to toe. 

Philippians 3:1-3 "Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you. Watch out for those dogs, those evildoers, those mutilators of the flesh. For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh."

Life is beautiful and so are you. After surviving twenty years of domestic violence myself, I know 

that you can get through this. Every situation is different from the very next. But I can assure you,

 your strong-willed, courage, stamina, support, intuition, even experiences will blast your forward 

and help you in the future.

Bruises will fade, and emotions heal. The crucial component is not to stay in this area. If, and when 

you call on Jesus, He will answer and help you. I promise He is the high tower.
