Rejoice, it's the end of the school year! Time to take a break from the early morning rises, and catapult into to your future, far away from domestic abuse situations while keeping your children happy and productive for the summer.

Here are some of the activities keeping children occupied (& safe) this summer:

How about starting with the YMCA. Check online at www.ymcatulsa.org for all the happenings going on there. You can imagine, pristine facilities filled with friendly and helpful staff ready to help you navigate onsite sports, fitness, outdoor fun, group settings, just a wide range of exciting and sizzling things to do. While online, ask anything you want about summer programs at info@ymcatulsa.org.

Next, thumb through the puffed, paper, or electronic pages in the library. There's plenty to do there and stay cool while you relax with your kiddos. There's story time for the little ones and a list of other opportunities-check with your local librarian. Hours to notate according to online:

If that doesn't tickle your fancy, VBS (Vacation Bible School) will sure do the trick! Even older youth can help by assisting with the littles and using the skills acquired over time & enhancing the ones earned and learned. VBS teaches children about Jesus, worship, learn about stories, do activities, eat snacks, and play while meeting new people and building a vibrant network. Remember, all His promises are yes and amen.
Check your local listings-there are TONS of churches participating.

Put community centers on your radar. You never know what you might find there. A new best friend. Engage in games of foosball or table tennis, maybe even a way to volunteer or another open door. It's all free entertainment.

Other options are band and sports camps. A plethora readily available and waiting for your child. Enhance their skills while they develop a lifetime of character traits equipping them for their future. It's a win-win for your summer.

So, cast out any doubts you might be having about yours and children's summer. It's easy to become overwhelmed with wondering what to do. But, as laid out above, there are plenty of things to do for free. While some may not be free, they are undoubtedly great alternatives.

Help kids keep focused on positives rather than lingering in atmospheres that do not produce promise or something prophetic for your children's future.
