Reflections of a mirror
What empowers a woman to rise to a new level of "herself" once she has survived domestic violence?
For one, she is free from ammunition and assault. Quenching continuous artillery from the alleged perpetrator is draining- she doesn't recognize herself in those moments. A thick fog permeates in the atmosphere (yuck), therefore, once she is free from the "battlefield" the lid is lifted, amen.
Next, courage from her inner self emerges, catapulting from the core spouting like a water fountain or a firework on a hot sticky summer day after the wick is lit. How cool is that?
Manipulation and intimidating try their hardest to dupe courage. However, courage wins when activation begins and is not sideswiped with "shrink wrap (back)."
The checklist is long and worthwhile to find a new-found freedom. If you look closely in the mirror, you see it in your reflection as it whispers to you how wonderful you really are and the endless possibilities.
Once she realizes she is worthy and valuable (always has been), there is a paradigm shift.
The worth and value that had lain dormant for way too long emerges and rushes like a wildfire. She starts to notice her personality more, develops her character-traits like an hourglass figure, then, her confidence boasts to an all-time high.
As she progresses forth and continues her journey in the straight road ahead, doors begin to open, and she awakens the lioness within her roaring with the victory, after all, she is a victor and never a victim.
Be aware of the non-believing naysayers as they will speak words which are not affirming or encouraging. You do not have to receive words which are not helpful, hopeful, or harmonious.
Remember, 1 Thessalonians 5:21 "But test everything; hold fast what is good." Of course, this scripture rings true in daily life, but, especially if you have overcome or are overcoming domestic violence, hold fast to kind, strong, right words and believe in yourself as you continue to rise like an eagle.
