Women's Work

I'm sure you've heard the saying "a woman's work is never done." How true do you think that is? Probably very true, I believe it is true as well. Now, on a bigger scale, as I was doing some reading this morning, how many people do you think that woman give directives (orders) to?

According to the Tulsa World, October 9, 2016, amazingly, women entrepreneurs give direction, instruction, guidance and employee about 7.9 MILLION people.

Let me give you a visual on that as if the number on the page wasn't big enough. Picture Los Angeles, San Diego and San Jose, California, all of which, according to the United States Census Bureau in 2013 (!!!!) have a population of 1 million a piece (I'm sure it is more now is 2016). So think of all those big cities x 2 plus more reaching up to 7.9 MILLION.

That's a very large number of people that women are giving instruction to others. Not only that, but, we know that these women worked hard to get where they are. We don't know their backgrounds, but we do know their passions have come through. They are living proof of what women can accomplish.

But these are not the only women out there. Yes, they are fierce and diligent in their work, we all have that ability.... but do we use it? Every woman has her own niche or what she has a passion for- mine is writing, empowering women from domestic violence and speaking to audiences about it (the education, intervention and prevention).

I encourage you today to take inventory of your skills; you have many, some of you don't realize how many skills you have.  Tap into your oh so many qualities, you have so many.

For those ladies wanting to seek entrepreneurship and you aren't sure how, couple of ideas here:

Get connected with SCORE (in Tulsa) https://www.tulsa.score.org This is a FREE service. Make an appointment and be prepared to discuss your ideas/plans/and GO FOR IT!

Another idea for you is to get a coach or mentor. Essentially, the people at SCORE are coaches or mentors, however, they are business coaches. We all need a coach, right? The participants and medalists at the Olympics all have coaches. Sports teams (basketball, football, soccer, baseball, gymnastics, swimming, hockey, and so on) all have coaches.

If you have been going through a domestic violence situation or you know of someone who has, reach out, get a coach, get some support. Women Empowerment Solutions would love to hear from you and coach you. If you need someone to come to your school, place of business and speak to Empower Women From Domestic Violence, it starts here. God bless your day and women at work!
