Flipping the puns, putdowns, and punishment

Skyla finished a tasty dessert at her dining room table where she'd spent the last 12 years listening to what she now calls garbage- so she "flipped" the puns, putdowns, and punishment.

The posh eating space with an 8-seater maple wood table with Hawaiian salt and pepper shakers helped her "surf" the impossible.

She couldn't figure out which "wave" she was on day-to-day.

One minute the family was bursting with tears laughing and the next, was drama drawn by the detrimental relatives, especially, Braxton.

He couldn't keep his mouth shut. He'd pop off with unkind words and think nothing of it.

Skyla remembered hearing suggestions from friends to stay away from anyone who is not lifting her up by word or actions.

She also recalled how her father used to jingle-jangle with the change in his pockets. He'd put one coin out and flip it. He did this daily.

She "decided" she would start flipping her story and the words people said to her if it were negative.

Instead of receiving what other people say, turn it around to be a positive narrative.

Grab the good words, marinate in them like meat marinades in tasty sauces.

For example. While at the dinner table next time, and you hear "Shanna is a champion cooker," take the word for yourself that you are a champion cooker even if nobody else thinks so. You know so.

Skyla learned how to flip the switch often where she became a new person to her family- they did not recognize her any longer- not by physical appearance, but by behaviors, her communication, the language she was speaking, but especially she was not listening to negative comments any longer. Part of the reason, she changed the narrative, she changed her mindset, and she made a choice. She wasn't going to be the pin in another person's pun.

Skyla examined herself and knew she deserved better.

This examination does not happen with everyone repelling domestic violence. Usually, it's another person from the outside looking in who says, "hey, this is what is going on." The person looks perplexed because they don't understand, don't want to understand, or just do not get it as they have been in layers of lies for a while. They don't see it until woken up on a rainy day. BTW...I had to be woken up over 20 years ago!

Overcome them with boundaries and the Word of God. Skyla stated her case. She was ignored. She stepped up to the plate even higher and said she will not tolerate the disrespect or dishonoring. She kept her head held high and said, "no more, no more, no more will you treat me with this type of talk and dishonor." People at the table, related or not, finally started hearing her message.

The punishment she received from her family and friends was cruel. Why would they treat her that way? Skyla did not deserve the ill treatment. They are supposed to love her- after all, they are her family. Unfortunately, toxic families who need a wakeup call. Ring-Ring-Ring~

Ways for Change:

*One way is for agreement. Agreement is a must. If there is no agreement, chaos and contention continue. However, you have the power to "flip" it as you are the righteousness in Christ Jesus. If the other party refuses to listen or work with you, the boundaries are your set of rules that don't come down. Sure, there are those who love to push buttons. Your rebound on that is solid self-control, discipline, or stay away from that person. You know what you can tolerate. Jerks are jerks, you simply must wear your full armor of God and pray for that person.

*Atmosphere. This is another Biggy! How do your surroundings look? Release the kingdom of heaven in your atmosphere and watch activities and people change.

*would recommend spending time with the Lord and finding out what spirit is behind the person causing havoc.

*Bind the spirit of harassment, you do not have to put up with it at all. Bind and loosing shall be daily words you speak to protect yourself along with wearing your full armor of God.

I hope this was help for you today with information you didn't know before.
