SERIES II- Domestic Violence Awareness Month: Signs, Behaviors, and More- SERIES II

Last week we talked about recognizing and discovering along with prayers in the series for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

We can safely talk here about behaviors we see while working to eradicate domestic violence. Here is a list of symptoms, this is by far not all of them.

Jumpiness. Tired eyes. Posture. Handshakes or NO handshakes. Word Style. Tone. Slurs. A Weak Disposition Regarding Money. Nervousness.

Depression and anxiety are hot on the list.

Agitation, memory woes, and stomach aches are a sign of affected behaviors, and there are many more, too numerous to capture and write about here.

What to do about them- the individual must choose to take steps, but how?

Depression and anxiety. Depression is from your inner self, emotions and wars within. What is the person soaking up in atmosphere and who is the person spending the most time with?  Depression and anxiety you can see in people. They look sad. Possibly there are those who hide it well, but I can usually see it in people. The best you can do is listen and offer prayer while showing compassion.

Anxiety is the opposite of faith, and faith is the currency of heaven.

One tip I heard from a professional resource is that when you mix a cup of very fresh milk with Cod and liver oil and vitamins, this drink is an anecdote for anxiety. The agony may not go down in one shot, but it’s pretty darn close! Consistency is the key to improvement. This could be a very popular mixture, especially today.

Speaking of the present time, I would highly recommend Celebrate Recovery in moving forward from hangups, habits, or other areas you are restoring from and need healing. I attended meetings years ago for one of my books and I was astonished, amazed, and knew people were having breakthroughs! Check your local church listings (in Oklahoma) for times and dates when they meet.

Additionally, for those interested in Group Empowerment with Women Empowerment Solutions, sign up on the website womenempowermentsolutions.org and let us know of your interest. The person attending could bring a friend. Also, those attending will learn and glean with relevant discussion, so come expecting empowerment.

Communication You Want to Know About

Handshakes are so telling. You have the grippy ones and the ones that are so Lucy Goosey they don’t mean a hill of beans or the person does not care or really into what is being discussed. There’s a wall there of “not knowing.”

Words have impactful meanings the way they are spoken, especially with the tones used. The receiver may easily become offended depending on where they are coming from in their soul/mind/heart.

People also talk in code; it’s more often spoken than you think.

Slurs- a big red flag. You know someone is going through a bit much with slurs. Image someone talking to you, what would slurred voice sound like? The person is struggling. Either that, or they just came home from the dentist, both are hard.

When I hear of others, especially women talk about money and how little they may have, I hear their heart, relationship, belief system, and whether they have faith or not. This where a lot of women get stuck and have a hard time moving on from domestic violence.

The truth is that they need to see the value in themselves to get where they would like to be. Trouble is, they’ve been talked down too for so long, they have forgotten. These women have been rejected, trust has been taken out of the equation, and their worth sucked out like a vacuum cleaner.

It is not easy. But you can attain your goals.

No more listening to the wrong voice saying you cannot do this or that because it’s not what other people think you should do or think you can do- it’s not up to those other people.

Nervousness is a thing, but it’s honestly a lack of confidence, and as you move your butt, legs, body, arms, hands and mind, you activate and kick your gifts into gear. You let the Holy Ghost move within you and you get work done.

Nervous people have negative energy that makes them reflect so in their body language: twiddling their thumbs, rocking their legs back and forth, swaying, all kinds of body movement. Speak a peace and a calm with a belief that God is with you. Speak it over yourself all through the day.

Plenty of groups are available whether they are church groups or recovery and counseling places, scriptures- take it like medicine and believe in what you are speaking brings power, which is what you want to couple with the Word of God.

Tracking your progress, changing and flipping habits and responses, changing your atmosphere, breaking off trauma (a Biggy).

Writing your progress down why you do or don’t do something.

Rewiring your brain is another thing which takes work! It does not happen overnight, but with determination and intention- you can do it!

The Book of Romans talks about transformation. A place to camp and let the fire of the Word burn new beliefs in your brain. When I say burn, this is the fire of the Word because it’s active and alive, full of power burning up what does not belong and replacing it with all good.
