Hi all.

I started to write a blog last week and was distracted by not sure what. Has distraction, you know, the shiny silver object ever gotten in your way?

Perhaps since you left your domestic abuse relationship and you are focused on court dates, but you forgot to write them on the calendar, then you receive a notice in the mail from the courts saying you missed your date, oops!

Then, your paycheck came in, direct deposit (yay!), but you forgot to pay a bill that was due already and you found out by washing your hands in the kitchen sink, come to find out, no water is coming through the faucet, ouch!

Though the scenarios have happened to some, and even gets better (NOT!) when you are jumpy about people sneaking up on you and trying to happily surprise you, that's just not working out either.

While a hot cup of coffee, tea, chocolate, or even cider sounds good, they won't take the "edge" off completely and there is a more simplified way to approach the madness, it's called peace in the presence of the king (daddy God).

It's kind of like Linus from Charlie Brown dragging his blanky around sucking his thumb for security, so do we take our daddy God everywhere we go because He is our Prince of Peace, Jehovah Ralpha, Jehovah Jireh, guider, teacher, and much more, whatever is needed, He is there for us no matter what, even on holidays!

If you are not quite sure about all this, the best way to start is with some quiet time and talk to Him one on one even though you cannot see Him, "taste and see that the Lord is good." Psalm 34:8 NIV. Welcome His Holy Spirit and watch Him move, may take a minute or two, or maybe not. Hear the still small voice within. The environment needs to be quiet though- no dryers running, no kids screaming, the television and computer both off, be away from a loud clock, and away from any noisy machinery like lawn mowers, vehicles, you get the point.

Here, you can ask questions absolutely no man or woman could ever answer, seriously.

Spend as much time with God as you can, even if it's only 15 minutes, then that's better than nothing at all and I am sure He will appreciate your time. Remember, you get a ROI (Return on Investment) with Him for sure, but that's not why you are spending time with Him.

So, off with the stress, it has to go, it's an intruder, and not allowed on your property.

Distractions will come, but you can overcome them very easily with the power of Jesus.
