Gum with newly minted exposition
What to do when you wake up super early because your husband is flopping around like a fish in his
sleep.
One, get up, find something to do. Two, go back to bed and try to sleep again. Three, stay up, and for
me, write.
It's those sheets of blank papers and the ideas and messages to script to the masses.
Words and sentences that flow into paragraphs with grand thoughts of promise and awakening.
The pressing issue of domestic abuse comes to mind, which rests on God's shoulders, and thankfully
not mine.
Sometimes it sounds short-lived, finding solutions. Having a lead, then it fades as quickly as the
minty taste of great chewing gum.
The elasticity is there, and sometimes you wonder what to do with it. Some might stick it under the
seat, throw it on the ground, and some merely wad up the chewed contents and wrap it and throw it in
a receptacle.
Domestic violence easily fits in the chewing gum category; however, it never tastes suitable for any
amount of time (someone may think the "slow phase" is workable).
The shouting and pouting bursts out like soda under pressure in a bottle and keep oozing. Then,
when the cap goes back on, kind of like the "hush hush" of it all, it relaxes the bubbles. When the
soda and the gum meet, it hardens, it's gross. Oh, so the gum is done with, stick it under the seat and
let it rot until someone finds it, accidentally….
Gratefully for all the cleaning people that come in and disinfect.
So, with domestic violence, much cleaning is done. Have you ever seen those carpet guys come in
and take your carpet out and clean underneath? Then there's wallpaper, take that off and bleach it
well, leaving no residue. Same thing for domestic violence intervention and prevention.
Those affected, are star-struck, needing immediate attention.
God knows this. If you will take some time to read scripture, and I am sure you have, it's the best.
He will lift you up from the blues and bottle your tears. He calls you by name and has a good future
for you. He loves you.
Get back to the days where you sleep without interruption and peace surrounds you.
A new mint is coming your way.
