A New Day

Hello Everyone. It is for not early in the morning, rather, later in the day.

Let's talk about the year, the day, the time that we are in.

Today, there are different areas for funding that make life so much better for women and I would like to share them with you now if you are not familiar with them.

First, there is VAWA (Violence Against Women Act), then there is FVPSA (Family Violence Prevention and Services Act) as well as VOCA (Violence of Crime Act); est 1984.

Areas that they support around the United States of America area- Shelters, Crisis Lines, Counseling, Safety Planning, Legal Assistance and Preventative Education to millions of adults and children---this is every year!

FVPSA has been reauthorized @ 175 million! The President's Fiscal Year 2012 (as you can see...that's been a few years...but it gives you some idea of dollar amounts) budget proposal includes $135 million for FVPSA, a $5 million increase from Fiscal Year 2011.

I hope that you find this information helpful and see that work is being done in many capacities to support women that need services and guidance for a better future, to be empowered from domestic violence.
