A labor of love, how it involves and affects you 7 days a week

We hope you are enjoying this beautiful (and hot) Labor Day weekend, it is a labor of love spending time in the heat for any extended period of time! Thank goodness for air conditioning! 

Cool off with family, friends, or doing your own thing- whatever that is. Hopefully you spend it with those you love, but if that is not an option, see how it all involves you and affects you through the calendar days.

Connecting are super important! The interactions and discussions, the laughter, and other times, it doesn't work at all like what we'd like it to. Here are some thoughts on labor of love and how it involves and affects you throughout the week:

What does a labor of love look like?

A. Labor and delivery (could be you, or someone you know, new life!).

B. Working all week

C. Listening without criticizing

D. Getting in the presence of the Lord

E. Worship

F. Praise

G. Loving the one who spilt the drink all over your nice white couch, then cleaning it, not yelling at the person who spilled the drink (Kool-Aid, grape juice, soda, etc.).

H. Working tension and issues out, circumstances out.

I. The type of love you give/ receive (agape, ludus, mania, storge, etc.)

J. Caring for one another.

Love never fails, scripture says so. You labor for it.

Love is not abuse though. Being treated poorly in words, actions, gestures, or any other type of communication off the charts a BIG NO.

Love does not have the right to control you. Love is firm at times; it has to be- think of small children. You love them, but teaching takes firmness. 

A labor of love is not exhausting yourself where you feel ooey and gooey on the inside until you cannot stand it, that's not love.

Love does stand the test of time.

Love overrides estrangement.

Love overrides harassment. 

Love overrides rejection and resentment.

So, whether you have family or friends, co-workers, or the grueling former x, love overrides it all. No, it does not mean be a doormat. That's not what were talking about here. Nobody ever wants to me a doormat, that's when authority is given up- and nobody is volunteering for that.

Love is kindness. It is a labor of love that goes on 7 days a week without realizing you are doing it.

Love yourself, 7 days a week, being kind. You deserve so much.

When you do not have love, you feel like an empty vessel. A ship which has sunk. That's no good.

It affects your mood, tone, your body, how and when you engage with others, what you eat or don't eat. Love is as big as the ocean and it does take work to keep the water clean, don't you think?

You see love, you smell love, you walk in love, and you talk love. Love changes everything.

Love sizzles the pain you've been carrying all the way to to root where it is no more, no more, no more.

Love, it conquers all. Labor works with your faith. Faith activates what you want to see in your future.
