Words are not enough at Thanksgiving to spread all the cheer. It's a busy time and

every kind of emotion is also popping like popcorn throughout the United States as well.

I hear people making plans to gather with loved ones locally, some are doing nothing, others are

driving afar to see family and friends.

You can smell the smoked turkey, it smells heavenly! What about the casseroles in the oven as well and

the pies and brownies too? I know, it is time for a feast.

Food brings everyone together no matter what mood you are in. The elegance of the table settings,

the whole area where you sit with others to relax, enjoy, reflect on the goodness of God and consume

delicious food.

This blog is about encouragement and looking past what you see in everyday life because not everyone

feels super happy this time of year, plain and simple.

There are subtle reminders of sounds, aromas, people, locations, and various other areas that might not

bring a great memory to mind.

So, how to you deal with that?

One of the ways is to not put yourself in the position of a particular environment with people whom

do not bring you joy, but truly strike a nerve- you know who the people are or who the person is, and

you know the location or atmosphere.

At times, you honestly do not recognize all this until you do "get it." Once you do "see," then move

 along.

Next, in the Word of God, you can see in scriptures II Corinthians 10: 4-6, it reflects refuting arguments

and theories. Truly, you are casting down negatives and not "allowing" anything negative to grab hold

of your attention, there is no room, and you are not the airport for negative words, thoughts, or fiery

darts coming at you.

Remove yourself from any unpleasing conversations. You do not need to partake of them or allow them

to take any of your time.

Praise God and have Him take authority over the situation (watch Him move).

You can all break of any trauma associated with a location, event, person, or situation which was

harmful to you in the past or in the present. You just speak it out in Jesus' name, amen.

Another authoritative use is to use BAC: Bind the enemy, take authority over the enemy, and command

 the enemy to go.

Continue to cover yourself in the blood of Christ which no foe can stand.

Remember to use Psalm 91 for protection over yourself and put your shield up and over covering all.

Now that you have some tools to use if you did not know them, put those on your list to use if you need

them.

You can enjoy your meal and desserts and all the conversation. Bring along some good discussion if you

know of some to talk about. If you do not, you can ask the Lord to give you some ideas. Reading

scriptures will give you creativity to stir up conversation if you like. You may just want to respond

to others when they ask you how you have been. Honesty and transparency go a long way, I am sure

you know.

If you need help getting words out, speaking up, or breaking the shyness, now may be a good

time for you to think of Toastmasters International. This nonprofit group will help you move

forward as you look ahead to the new year. The group helps you come out of your shell so-to-speak,

but also helps you blossom in other areas too like: Time management, productivity, grow your

network (networking always leads to very good friends and money in your pocket without you

realizing it), helps you to speak up with clarity, writing stories and speeches, keep up with time,

and more. If you are interested, check out some of the Toastmaster clubs in your area. They are

everywhere, including overseas.

Continue to grow in ways you had only dreamed of. Your growth is up to you. How far do you

want to grow? You have treasure deep inside of you. I encourage you to reach within yourself and pull

it up and out, then, move forward. You truly have this!
